I’m from the fishing village of Mallaig, in the west Highlands of Scotland. I moved back here last year after spending fourteen years in Fort William. You could say that I have lived in the Lochaber area all of my life. It is a very beautiful part of the world. I have always enjoyed living here, and I would recommend it to anyone who fancies a holiday to remember.
Traditional music has always been my first love, although I do listen to all sorts of different things. I’m very much of the opinion that there are only two types of music; good and bad, and it is very much a question of personal preference as to what falls into which category.
I’m married to Morag, who is a nurse in Mallaig. We’ve been married for just over a year.
I would love to have more time for hobbies, although I am a life long football fanatic (see the ‘Back Page’ section). I also enjoy fishing and most other outdoor pursuits.
I’ve always enjoyed traveling, and one of the good things about being a musician is that it allows me the chance to see a bit of the world, and, more importantly, meet all kinds of different people.
